Investigation, Study and Learning Exchange Activity in Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park Organized by the Institute

On the afternoon of May 18th, the Chief Engineer's Office specially planned one Urban Renewal Project -- on-site inspection activity in Guangzhou Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park, with a view to learn the advanced experience of successful cases of old city urban reconstruction in terms of the operation and management. The inspection activity was led by Li Jianping, Deputy Chief Planner, and 18 technicians from the institute participated in the study and exchange.

After entering Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park, Yang Yifan, deputy general manager and representative of the project operation organization Usun-China Tourism Planning and Design Institute (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Usun-China) led the staffs of the institute to visit the park planning and know about the park business state. Mr. Yang introduced that the predecessor of Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park was Guangzhou Dongfanghong Printing Factory. Thanks to a series of innovations and activation measures, it has now developed into a cultural and creative industrial park. The occupancy rate of the park has reached 80%, and the overall business situation has been diversified.

As we were following the pace of the visitors, we have deeply felt the tranquil and picturesque environment in Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park. In addition, we could enjoy the artistic atmosphere combined with both old and new elements everywhere. From there, we could find the traces of the time, and could also feel the trend of the times.

After the tour of the park, we came to the U-sun China Company for discussion and exchange. Firstly, Mr. Yang elaborated the development of the diversified formats of “Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park” by combing with industrial transformation in Guangzhou and the historical changes of functions along the Guangzhou Industrial Avenue. Then, engineer Deng Qiwen told the feelings and experience of integration and co-existence in reconstruction of the old area by combining the reconstruction and design scheme of the creative park. Finally, Mr. Yang summed up the status quo that the overall function of Dongfanghong Creative Industry Park is a kind of enterprise gathering place for creative design, art manufacturing and so on. It is hoped that in the future, the project can be built into a 3A scenic spot through the measures including the improvement of infrastructure and the creation of a tourist atmosphere, etc., so as to realize the industrial chain upgrading featured by “culture + creativity + tourism”.

After the introduction by Mr. Yang, the technicians of the institute had a lively exchange and discussion with Mr. Yang on topics of interest such as the characteristics and the operating model of creative parks in different regions of Guangzhou.

Interactive communication

The purpose of this activity of investigation and study is to deepen the study and understanding of the project practice of the frontline technicians through field visits and on-site exchanges and communication. At the same time, it also enriched the organization form of internal training in the institute, which was welcomed by the technicians.
